IMEALL
TG4, 2008-2022
Ó 2008 go 2022, rinne IMEALL taifeadadh agus caomhnú físiúil ar shaol na nealaíne ar fud na hÉireann agus thugamar cuairt freisin ar chathracha mar Nua Eabrac, Londain, Páras agus Shanghai chun súil a chaitheamh ar Éireannaigh thar lear agus chun a fháil amach conas mar a bhreathnaíonn an domhan orainn agus ar ár gcuid ealaíontóirí.
Chuaigh IMEALL amach ar an láthair chun taifeadadh a dhéanamh le healaíontóirí ina spás féin - ó chúlstáitse ag cleachtadh dráma go stiúideó péinteála timpeallaithe ag péinteanna ola agus scuabanna agus fiú sa gháirdín cúl ag dealbhadóir, áit a gcuireann sé saothar nua miotail le chéile. Agallaimh pearsanta a bhí iontu go léir - agus ealaíontóirí mar thuairisceoirí ag caint le healaíontóirí eile. Tagann saineolas amach sa bhealach sin agus faigheann an lucht féachana léargas níos soiléire agus níos grinne ar a bhfuil i gceist agus saothair nó léiriucháin ealaíonta nua á gcruthú is á múnlú ag ealaíontóirí na tíre. Curtha i láthair ar dtús ag Cormac De Barra agus ansin ag Tristan Rosenstock.
I measc na n-ealaíontóirí a chonaiceamar ar IMEALL bhí Colm Tóibín, The Frames, Moya Brennan, Anne Enright, Sinéad O’ Connor, Colm Meaney, Enda Walsh, Mick O’Dea, Julie Feeney, Niall Tóibín, Villagers, Roddy Doyle, Dara Ó Briain, Cillian Murphy, Mick Flannery agus Liam Ó Maonlaí.
From 2008 to 2022, IMEALL recorded and visually preserved the world of art across Ireland and we also visited cities such as New York, London, Paris and Shanghai to observe Irish people abroad and find out how the world looks up to us and our artists.
IMEALL went out on location to record with artists in their own space - from backstage rehearsing a play to a painting studio surrounded by oil paints and brushes and even in a sculptor's back garden, where he assembles a new metal work. They were all personal interviews - with artists as reporters talking to other artists. Expertise comes out in that way and the audience gets a clearer and more nuanced view of what is involved when new artistic works or productions are created and shaped by the country's artists. First presented by Cormac De Barra and then by Tristan Rosenstock.
Among the artists we saw at IMEALL were Colm Tóibín, The Frames, Moya Brennan, Anne Enright, Sinéad O'Connor, Colm Meaney, Enda Walsh, Mick O'Dea, Julie Feeney, Niall Tóibín, Villagers, Roddy Doyle, Dara Ó Briain, Cillian Murphy, Mick Flannery and Liam Ó Maonlaí.
CEOL AR AN IMEALL is our alternative music series.
