Mo Mhórchoir Féin - A Prayer
Following on from their successful collaboration in 2006 with
Match, Emmy award-winning director Dearbhla Walsh and choreographer Fearghus Ó Conchúir make a welcome return to RTÉ’s Dance on the Box series in 2010 with
Mo Mhórchoir Féin - A Prayer, which is a short film about faith.

Set in the familiar environment of a Catholic church, the film explores the uncomfortable role of the body within the contemporary Irish church. Carefully choreographed and thought-provoking dance sequences shed light on the dark shadows of the church, to a hauntingly emotive soundtrack by Iarla Ó Lionáird.
The dancing body is sculpted by light, creating connections between it and the carved religious images of the church, as the body remembers and speaks in a way that can be more powerful than words.
Mo Mhórchoir Féin - A Prayer confidently uses the language of dance to contribute to the current complex debate on the devotee's experience of the church in Ireland.
Mo Mhórchoir Féin is a Red Shoe Productions' film for The Arts Council and RTÉ, conceived and choreographed by Fearghus Ó Conchúir, produced by Maggie Breathnach and directed by Dearbhla Walsh.
